User Reports: Metzeler Tourance

.
At 41,414 km / 25,733 m I mounted an old friend, a set of Tourances.

My previous tires were the Anakee, click here: Michelin Anakee , and the Tourance EXP, click here: Tourance EXP . The Tourance is a renowned but relatively old tire design. It neither offers best possible grip anymore, nor does it have the sharpest handling. But from my V-Strom DL1000 times I know it as a trusted all-rounder with good mileage. That is what I wanted now.

* Thread depth: 8.9 mm

* = measured in the center around TWI marking

General Comments:
What sticks out intermediately is the amazing compliance. It is almost as if I had got a suspension upgrade. I love this! Another point, when new the Tourance initially feels like it would drop into the corners. Once leaning it stays absolutely solid on track. I remember the same effect with my V-Strom. It disappears after a few days when the thread has rubbed down a little, or possibly because one gets used to it.

I am excited to see what other differences it makes to the more modern tires I had just before.

I did 22.000km on tourance and I need to change them. After reading through posts here and adv rider, I will stick with tourance again.

Happy in wet, cornering, fast brakings...

what are your sources? Can't find mention of it anywhere? I just called the dealer and they knew nothing of recall?
